Army Run 2025 – Ottawa Race Media by Sean Menezes Photography x RaceCapture

This year I had the incredible opportunity to support the Canada Army Run 2025 here in Ottawa, not just as a photographer, but as a serving military member deeply connected to what this race represents. The event, organized by CFMWS in support of Soldier On, is more than just a run. It’s community getting together to honour the service, and sacrifice of our military members and their families.

For me, it’s personal. I’ve lost friends to suicide. I’ve seen the toll of injuries, both visible and invisible, on those who’ve served at home and overseas. These memories are a living reminder of the strength of our community, the importance of mental and physical health, and the power of coming together to support one another in the good times, and when things are a bit rockier.

Being behind the lens this year gave me a different perspective. Seeing families cheer on loved ones, athletes pushing through their limits, and injured veterans crossing the line in whatever whey they physically could, some in wheelchairs, others with full battle rattle, and some with artificial limbs. To be able to deliver media for such an impactful event in support of CFWMS, and to showcase the incredible energy of this community, was nothing short of an incredible privilege.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy my photos from the event.
