June 21st, Stittsville Megadome. Our team covered TheStrengthCollective HYROX simulation from start to finish, drone shots, multiple cameras, photos, videos, live editing and social media content, everything you’d need for a great day. This was the official launch of RaceCapture by Sean Menezes Photography, and it was built for exactly this kind of event.
I created RaceCapture to bring the sense of community and love back into race sport photography. Too many big race companies churn out media that’s “set and forget” . Unedited, overexposed, and very unloved. Just mass-produced images, meant to bring in cash-flow. That’s not what athletes deserve, and that’s not at all what I want to deliver.
Within my own business own Sean Menezes Photography, and now with RaceCapture, the goal is always to deliver incredibly beautiful, and badass imagery that respect all the work it takes for an athlete to be on the start line, and to cross at the finish. For this HYROX, Athletes had beautifully edited, high-quality images available the same day — not just one or two snapshots, but full coverage that actually reflected the effort and intensity they brought to the floor. This was an elevated media experience that achieved it’s aims not by cutting corners, but embracing community, with a team of dedicated local creators who care deeply about our city’s athletes, and an unmistakeable love for creating.
RaceCapture was born out of my own frustration as an ultraendurance runner. I’d finish races and be stoked to see the photos, but nothing about them reflected the grit of what we just did. And that’s what I wanted to change, using my time as an athlete, my experience as a photographer and videographer, and my love for capturing badass, high-quality imagery.
Our partnership with The Strength Collective made it all possible. They focused on running the event. We handled everything media. I just wanted to express once again my sincere gratitude for their our partnership within the Ottawa athletic community.
RaceCapture is built for athletes. It’s built with intention. And it’s built by your local community. Community Builds Community.
Sean
